@Kurtortonta Hey this golden dragon is awesome. I play wow until gw2 comes out and this dragon brightens up my day :)

@billybobjoeftw *Super face-palm* You can download any part of their game that you want. Hell, you can download it all the way up to Cata, that doesnt mean you can play it though.
When you actually "buy" the game, all it does for the most part is enable your Battle.net account to get access to that content, like a CD key for your acct. So if you only bought the original game, but you downloaded all the expansions, you are STILL capped at lvl 60, and wont see The Outlands, Northerend, etc.

@beowulf1223 Or the numerous pets and mounts in wow... 25 $ for a golden dragon.......

@54moo If you do some research, ANet has clearly stated and said many times before that GW2 will NOT have any in-game shop that benefits players beyond cosmetic items like roleplay clothes or extra character slots, just because other games suck your wallet dry, does not mean everyone wants to use that same method to make money, ANet realized, its not those kinds of things that make a game good, its making a great game and making it free, that will give them their profit.

@54moo But sub fees aren't the ONLY way an MMO company generates revenue. For GW1 A-net got its money through game sales and microtransactions which are purely service based or cosmetic (i.e. completely optional to buy). GW1 funded further developments of the game by...developing it further, and then selling expansions. Games like WoW don't charge a monthly fee because they need it to keep the lights on every month, they do so to pump up profits. They are a business afterall.

I understand you are upset by sub fees, but as I see it, they Are needed. That is how a MMO only company generates revenue. By charging a monthly fee. The ones that go f2p, always have a hook. Things ou have to by to be the best or look good. Monthly fees are needed. Bottom line. They don't pay only for servers, but for further development of the game, paying the staff to actually stay. They use the fees to also develop other games and products. It is going to use, you just cant understand that.

@l2pirate ummm by selling expansions like in GW1, micro-transactions for cosmetics items and service like extra character slots. League of legends is still around cause of skins, people go crazy for cosmetic stuff, just look at transmog in WoW
