  • Isn't the guy in the video at master level? with a red sash... unless we're at his level or higher, who are we to say what's wrong or right about the way he played the form.

  • I think Kato2710 has got it right. I know a purple sash in this discipline and he is one of the most humble guys i know. He openly admits he is afraid at the outset of any confrontation and this guy is a moving weapon who has seen more action than 10 people would see in their lives combined. The only people that are head-strong and supremely self-confident are the inexperienced. Experience and wisdom tends to mute robust claims of personal or art supremacy.

  • @skatking83 racism from chinese society can prevent gui lo from learning a few forms, but proficiency as a taoist fighter is bought with bruises, bloody faces, sweat, and time.

  • @giggletoad this is actually first form. There are two versions, one being white man version, the other (this one) is the traditional. The white man version is a bit more simpler but still has the same principle. This one is THE most important to learn and master. I havnt trained in a while but i can still remember this one.

  • things can evolve with different teachers. To me, and my chow gar, this looks like what we call second form: shaking off the bridge or sarm bo yui kui. The structure is the same, but it is different energy.

  • Amazing similarity between this and uechi ryu

  • Wow. I'm here because of Avater: The Last Air Bender and I can really see the resemblance between Southern Praying Mantis and Earth Bending. The show did a great job in capturing the style.

  • @Hannakate93 Your muscles might be bigger but without techniques it doesn't mean anything except for brute force

  • Frenzy, where's ur video then? Where's ur energy which I can't see? Where's ur internal energy and deep gungfu ? I'm all eyes........

  • My muscles are bigger :P

  • Well said in an odd way - a lot of this does incorporate breathing, to increase basics like abdominal strength and the ability to unleash power without 'summoning' power, if you get what I mean.

Essential, similar to a boxer's breathing patterns.
