@Truthrevealed21 if your dogs being put under to flush them it cost more..squeezing and flushing are a different procedure

you should not have to go inside the anus on a small dog. The glands are at 4 and 8 o'clock and if you feel them full compaired to empty you know if they are full or not. Vets can refer to the action of expressing them as "milking" . Poor dogs being violated ...Cats on the other hand you may have to go in. Use a Grain Free dog food and you may not have to express them so much...KIDS don't do it unless it needs to be done...don't start something you don't want to have to keep doing.

Yes that is very true. The vet I go to charges way too much.

Is $28 what it cost to have a vet do this procedure? It seems like everytime I go to the vet, they charge me a few hundred dollars.

You have to go inside the anus and express it from the inside in order to get all of the secretion out. Merely squeezing it from the outside simply wont do it alone.

I just did my pug,and saved $28., but had to go inside of anal.
