From August 4-14, Troop 80 from Seattle, Washington went to Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimarron, New Mexico. The trip lasted 2 weeks total from Seattle and back. The Hike was approximately 60 miles (including side hikes).

Congratulations on completing your trek. We went in 2009, 622 B8. We did trek 31, close to 100 miles, but it was well worth it. I was a leader, and our scouts did great. I just had to stay out of their way, they did everything they were supposed to, and more. A very successful trip.

my dad was permanent staff there from 80-2004...........we lived at Ponil and Rayado.......i worked with the summer staff in '82 and '83 at HQ.............fun time, but lousy pay! lol.... it's a lot nicer during the off season when it's not so run-over by so many people.
