The Airbus 'Beluga' was designed and built to replace the Airbus fleet of four Guppy's which were showing signs of wear and tear.
Airbus copied this 'look' for the 'Beluga', hope that clarifies everything.

@JonnyBgr it was originally converted to this configuration to haul components of the Saturn 5 rockets that sent man to the moon. later airbus used them to haul fuselage sections of their piss poor airliners to variuos assembly plants around europe.
