This is a home built "segway" type balancing scooter. It was constructed with the minimum amount of parts/money. The heart of the balancing act is a 5DOF rate gyro and accelerometer combo board being interpreted by a pic 16F877a microcontroler with less than 100 lines of MikroBasic. Output is PWM converted to analog and sent to a Sabortooth 2X10 motorcontroller in analog input mode. Steering is accomplished with a 5K POT on the "stick" and is added/subtracted to the left/ right PWM output.

Let me know when are you going to sell a kit in ebay. I like to buy one.

  • what motors did you use to get away with the sabertooth 2x10?

  • That's really cool, well done!

  • nice job are planing to sell it as kit if so where can i get one ?

  • Dave. Most brilliant. Keep up the good work.*****

  • I have a slightly nicer version of it now. I do plan to sell it on ebay when I am done experimenting with it. My starting price is actualy aroun $600. It could be used as a segway or someone could use it for robot parts.

  • Nice job! Did you need a lot of control theory to get it working?

  • cool
