So, basically, having started appreciating the Metal Gear series long ago, *without* all those 3D, VA, etc. things, playing MGS2 only much later did ofcourse add up to the experience for me, but I find that the gameplay itself is the most important part. I didn't really care that much for epic, lengthy conversations, voice acting and such.
So, that's what I meant. But I did misunderstand what you actually meant, so I was wrong on that. Greetings!

...it was your initial post (before I read your other posts) that made me react that way - it was the apparent "putting it down" part ("What? No 3D? No proper music? A big dip!")
I was under the impression that you didn't appreciate the fine piece of work this game was back then, and how it pushed the envelope in many ways by the hardware standards of that time. Reading your later posts made me understand properly what you were talking about and that's also why I did delete my post

Because I was actually compelled by the storyline back then, it struck me that you appeared to *need* things as voice acting, cutscenes etc. to be sucked into the gameplay and what the story is trying to say. So for me, it's the other way around. I only played MGS2 until now (only recently own a PS2) but I really enjoyed the similarities in gameplay, which to me is very much like the 'original' MSX2 versions.
So it's not the suggestion of a remake I was going anal about...

Well, first off, even as I did grow up with the original versions you see here, I'm not opposed to a possible remake for modern systems at all. You are right, it's dated, but I do think it has aged quite well, considering the limitations of the system. Though it may be partially nostalgic influences, too. :P

@johnhassink So I don't exactly know what it was you were trying to prove or accuse me of there. I am not stictly for or against remakes (twin snakes was totally pointles) but in this particular case not only is it ridiculously dated by todays standards. Those things are massivly amplified by the fact that what is missing is not the basic formula for what makes the series so successful and beloved by so many people.

@johnhassink You can tell by the way this game was made that it was trying to be that which made MGS1 so famous. If Kojima had the technology at his disposal he would have made it as cinematic as MGS1, Kojima had a vision for what he wanted this game to be but ultimately it couldn't be done because what he wanted wasn't possible yet, well now it is.
The voice acting, the music, the cinematic cutscenes are all what have made the series, and are what make it so immersive, emotional and deep.
they have to make this in ps3,with a young solid snake full of life and energy with a lot of cool moves, figths, and gun figths,we play the middle and the old age solid snake, we deserve to play the ultimate soldier in his very beggining, as a rookie, WE DESERVE IT!!!!! YOU HEAR ME HIDEO, WE DESERVE IT!!! SNAAAAAAKEEE!!!!

What the fuck is wrong with you guys?! WE ARE ALL PROUD FANS OF THE METAL GEAR SERIES! WHETHER IT BE SOLID OR JUST PLAIN METAL GEAR, HELL ITS NAME COULD BE METAL GEAR DICK AND I WOULD STAND TO SALUTE IT! We should be defending our honor against the douche-bags who say Splinter Cell is better, Dont get me wrong, its good, but the story sucks and its replay value is low. Its fun the first time around. METAL GEAR/SOLID/DICK FOR THE WORLD!
