This is a very basic focal length test of three popular Canon lenses. This video will demonstrate the difference between a wide angle zoom and longer fixed focal length lenses indoors. We will examine the following lenses -

- Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
- Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
- Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM

All lenses were tested using the Canon T2i / 550D.

  • thanks for this

  • @djaps

I'm a bit late on the response, but the 50mm 1.4 is amazing. I use it for almost everything and its ultra sharp compared to the kit lens. Plus you can do night shots.

  • Thanks! I'm planning to buy the 10-22mm soon so I looked this up. Very impressive, I didn't think it would be that huge of a difference between this and the 50mm. :)

I have a T2i. Would you recommend this lens or is there something better I should go for in this focal range?

  • Nice, simple and helpful test, thanks a lot!

  • Thanks for this comparison !

  • I was told to buy the 1.4 50MM for my t2i, I heard the quality of HD is better than other lenses, any suggestions? Im still using the same lens which came with the t2i
