(1Sa 5:3) And when those of Ashdod arose early on the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of Jehovah. And they took Dagon and set him in his place again.
(1Sa 5:4) And when they arose early on the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the earth before the ark of Jehovah. And the head of Dagon, and both the palms of his hands, were cut off upon the threshold. Only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

@GODH8ZZ Priests? These guys are laymen not priests. I'm so sorry for what may have caused you to carry so much hate in your heart. But, it's the SIN that we hate - not people. Human nature gives way to a hateful heart, but we are to take the high road like our Redeemer did. Hate the sin - PRAY for the sinner. This is what the Savior taught us, right?

@audrey5904 Wow! That's too bad about your little boy. I guess 3 is really too young to discern between what is real and what is not. It was probably a scary thing for him to see. It is very creepy how upset the people got. It was like they couldn't distinguish between a false image and a real, living being! The enemy wants to keep people spiritually immature like that. I wonder how many came to the realization that that statue was not pleasing to our Heavenly Father? Reality check.

@GODH8ZZ Can we please just agree that idol worship is wrong without making blanket prejudicial statements against a people group? We should be praying for ALL those who practice false religion. Let's not make this an excuse to show our hate for fellow humans. They are lost and need to be shown the light with the love of Messiah. By the way, your handle is very telling. Just sayin'...
Jeremiah 10:5 Jeremiah 10: 5 Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
their idols cannot speak;
they must be carried
because they cannot walk.
Do not fear them;
they can do no harm
nor can they do any good.”

Philosophical point: I thought that whole Moses on Mt. Sinai thing taught us that we were not supposed to worship idols. Just sayin’ ………
