  • @PrescriptionSeven uhh oh. most of the slime that comes out is a defense mechanism for the plant. the slime can really irritate the mucosal lining in humans if ingested. dont worry. i cut some today. the slime was yellow. which was odd. i thought it would be a clear color. going to drink some tonight :-)

  • @dilkepyar86 i just had some juice. i didn't wash it though :/

  • @PrescriptionSeven thanks for replying. my initial plans are to juice it. i think the safe way to juicing it is to peel off the green part, wash under water and then it should be safe. Iv seen some videos doing that.

  • @dilkepyar86 you can also clone the plant by planting the cut stalk. just don't cut it open and use it. so its better you take two. lol.

  • @dilkepyar86 yea just cut a stalk and identify it. if its the real deal you'll be fine..just don't eat the juice when you cut it..i use the juice for skin bruises. the gel should be a milky white/ clear. i have a smaller aloe plant ( about 2 feet tall) the gel is a bit more clear. use a sharp knife to the cut the stalk so it can seal up perfectly on its own. prevents plant damage. :) btw unless you need the entire stalk just cut what you need. i usually cut in the middle, it doesn't hurt it.

  • Where I am aloe Vera plants grow everywhere. Would it be safe to use that or should I not?
