Mike walks through the prep work required. He explains the tools that he used and the steps he performed. For this project, he added molding pieces to soften the right angles around the edge of his counters. He also applied a molding to the top of the backsplash to soften the angles. And, he applied a putty to create a cove where the surface of the counter meets the backsplash. He also applied a painters tape above the backsplash to keep the DecoPoz off the wall, but he found that the painters tape was too thin and the polymer was able to penetrate the tape; he recommends a thicker tape or a different strategy for protecting the walls during the application.

Deco-Poz and other products used for this project can be purchased at www.dwellsmart.com. You may also call DwellSmart at 843-856-2282 with questions.
