WONDER DOG RESCUE: EMERGENCY

This past adoption event was an overwhelming success, with many wonder dogs finding new homes, and even one being reunited with family. But with every happy ending, there are many others waiting for that chance to be a wonder dog. As a rescue, we receive e-mails on a daily basis about dogs that will be euthanized if they cannot find rescue. And because we rely solely on our network of wonderful foster homes, we can only take in so many.

E-mails as dire as this are the most heartbreaking, because although we want to save them all, realistically, we know we cannot. And as you can see, many of them are no older than 2 years of age, and still in the prime of their lives. Even more are still puppies. Life hasn't even begun for them yet.

The shelter population is growing by the minute, and there is a way to help bring those numbers down significantly, and that is spaying and neutering our pets. It's a necessary part of responsible pet ownership. Lives will be saved, our pets will be healthier, and as a rescue, we'll know that these deaths were not in vain... because we heard their pleas, and real change has come from them.
