Army psychologist told commanders that Jason was putting a loaded gun is his mouth because he wanted them to think he was mentally ill. Doesn't sound too healthy, does it?

@dogsoldier22 - He DID go seek help. From his chain of command, mental health professionals, and chaplain. They told him he was faking it, and sent him back to the platoon without even looking into it. And also, just because YOU have not thought of suicide doesnt mean people dont. I myself spent alot of time overseas and never thought about it. But not everyone is the same. Sheuerman was a great person. And the SYSTEM failed him.

@cassperraviator To answer your first question I've been on 5. How many have you been on? Your comment about me not supporting the war is totally off base. The only point I am trying to make, which is clearly apparent (to anyone who can think above the brainstem) in my first message, is that recruitment standards for the past 6-7 years are piss poor. His mental and emotional weakness should have been weeded out in basic training.

@sgtsimmons135 Quick question, how many tours have YOU been on , IF at all you belong to the military !! Its ok if you dont support the war , support the heros fighting them and if you cant stand up for them , try standing in FRONT of them. Maybe you'll realize that they werent in a bad mental state before they joined the forces , but maybe being too long in the presence of that atmosphere and awefull things they have to go through everyday made him so HELPLESS !! GROW UP !!

People with mental and emotional health issues shouldn't even make it through in processing at basic training. I don't feel sorry for a Soldier that commits suicide. They are responsible for their own actions and the choices they made that led them to military service. If you don't have the stomach and mental fortitude to bust some balls and crack some heads then stay at home and eat your friggin fruit loops... You Don't Belong On The Line!

@truthbringer55 He wasn't my battle. He got smoked by our company senior medic for being a shitty medic and then killed himself the next morning. Then they gave him a hero's ceremony and put a memorial next to soldiers in my Division who have died actually doing their jobs. They should have erased his name from rosters and forggoten about him. He just quit like he always did. Killing himself was the best thing that guy ever did for the unit.
