Shinjuku area on the evening of the day of the big earthquake

There was a big earthquake on this day. We are usually accustomed to earthquakes; however, this time, I felt that something was very different, that something very dangerous was happening. I felt as if I was on a boat in a raging sea.
On this day, public transportation was nearly completely stopped, so there were many people trying to go back home on foot. So there were lots of people on the streets.
And there was heavy traffic jam. We usually do not have traffic jam so often, but on this day the traffic on a major road didn't move a bit. It was much faster to walk.
As far as I could see there seemed to be no damage to the buildings along the street.
