This is one of my breeder Southeast Asian Junglefowls in eclipse. The video was recorded in early September 2011. This junglefowl is approximately 50-60% pure. Offspring will be available shortly. For more information, visit us at http://redjunglefowl.webs.com

  • Nice eclipse, looks like my wameng wild type (eclipse wise) the rich will bring out this from the laos. my yee stag cross with rich hen throw out same they are nice. My friend has them, and the f-2 threw out a stag that is awesome. wich he has not post it up, Ill try to get him to. Ive have not seen any loas eclipse to this degree except with the rich crosses. I actually have the brother now for my father, and the comb shrank smaller than this one.

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure your bird looks real good.

  • Nice jungle fowl! Does he naturally carry his wings low like that, and did the other Southeast Asian eclipse too? Thanks for sharing video bro. Keep the videos coming.

  • @yiasthoj

Thanks Yias. His natural wing carriage is seen in the other "Southeast Asian Red Junglefowl Video." He is in the left cage. In this video, his wings are hanging due to: hot temperature, molting feathers, and because he is defensive of his territory. During the breeding months, he and his brother fearlessly attack anything, including my German Shepherd, that dare enter their territory. In eclipse, he no longer attacks me, but flares at me.

Yes, the other male eclipsed as well.

  • @AIphaKong

When you get a chance you mind posting a video of the other one too. This fowl looks really nice! Nice eclipse!

  • @yiasthoj

I will record the brother as time permits. Again, thanks for the compliment on him. His eclipse is acceptable. My aim is to have birds with pure black eclipses. This guy still have sparse amounts of yellow feathers in the eclipse. My top birds from this year will be superior to this male and his brother.

This bird is neither small or large and is within the correct parameters of a true junglefowl. Most would agree that the Indian red junglefowl strains in the U.S. are too small. Nhia Doua Yang, the importer of the original Laos Strain red junglefowls, had personally stated the birds he imported were much larger than pure red junglefowls.

This bird's comb shrank about 30-40% from his peak breeding comb size. His comb also fell some more during the eclipse period.

    Thanks.

  • @groenelantaarn

    Thanks!

  • Nice bird. He looks to be on the smaller size right? Did his comb shrink any or did it just fall to one side?
