@Bugndad It's just proving a point. After blowing a VW engine, all it takes is $250 or so and the labor to rebuild an engine and it's pretty much good as new. I accidentally did this when I build my first VW engine. A push-rod-tube-seal slipped and it wasn't noticed. 15 miles from the shop my engine seized. Took it apart, replaced the crank and bearings, and all was okay.
how does anyone find pleasure blowing up a motor ?? Anyone who has dealt with air cooled VWs knows what blown motors are like , not fun always expensive . I guess it is your motor blow it up if it makes you feel good
