its kinda hard to tell but it could be either the way to find out is on the ground floor or the lowest level the elevator can go to is to look around for a machine room when its on the bottom its hydralic also ride it up and down once and listen to the sound of the motor if it sounds the same in both dirrections its traction but if it sounds like water or fluids when it goes down then its hydralic its proberly hydralic because its cheep

Yeah it's traction; they go so fast and upon arriving at the floor, they slow down to complete stop accurately eliminating the need of parking feature to level evenly unlike the hydralic units. This elevator has a speed of 200 fpm.
