Actually, if you follow all the information from the games, including Defiance and Blood Omen 2, Kain rips off Raziels wings because they are bat-like and resemble the Hyldon. Vampire wings were feathered, as shown in all the paintings through Defiance. And Raziel was revealed to be the Hyldon hero in Defiance. But he had defied his fate, hence the title of the game.

Kain knew that he was destined to fight the Hyldon's champion, as it turns out it was his own kin.

Seems like the gameindustry is just as messy as the movie industry ;) Yes, imagine how great a blood omen game would be on PS3 or Xbox360 :P

Eidos owns the Ip now to my knowledge. But the Original Blood Omen is the property of Silicon Knights.

There was a massive court battle shortly before the release of Soul Reaver 1. Hence when you boot up the game it says Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain developed by Silicon Knights, and Soul Reaver is by Crystal Dynamics.

Eidos owns Crystal Dynamics to my knowledge now.

Man it would be great to have the return of Kain.
