@austincole14 Brass ammo like Winchester is close to $1 per round, who would fire a 7.62x39 rifle at $1 per round? Worthless if it can't fire steel cased ammo.

Wolf ammo is part of the cause of it malfunctioning. I brough one box and learn from my mistake when my perfectly fine rock river started malfunctioning like crazy when i tried to run this crap through it. Leave that cheap stuff in the store.. if your wanna be cheap, get a 22.

I support the flip-flops idea.

stovepipes like a champ.

Golden Bear ammo is steel cased but brass coated. It runs like a champ and runs like brass ammo for just a little more than steel ammo's cost. That would work fine I'm sure ... so .. no excuse for bitching about these malfunctions. Spend a little more for Golden Bear or Silver Bear. You'll be fine then.

Wow looks like you guys know your range safety! You pointed the rifle at yourself with the selector on fire and holding the charging handle back. That’s smart! I will definitely follow your advice and review. I wouldn’t try and pass myself off as a professional doing all the unsafe actions I just witnessed you doing. You gentlemen are the consummate professionals.

@pasdabeer if you were to spend $1200 on a gun why would you run 20+ year old cheap ammo through it? That's like running unleaded gas in a Lamborghini.

@GodslilRedneck23 If you knew a damn thing about 762x39 rifles, you would know that steel cased Russian/Chinese ammo, along with the recent splurge of Yugo brass cased, is the STANDARD for 762x39 rifles. If it cant function with wolf/tula, uly, bear, or the tiger ammo, it shouldn't be on the market.

First of all your using junk ammo. I wouldn't run wolf unless it was the last ammo on earth. Second the review would have been a bit more credible had it been done by a professional. At 1:00 in you never chambered a round after you cleared the malfunction, yet you tried to fire the weapon. Also before you clear the malfunction you should always place the weapon on safe. You should really invest in some decent firearms training.

Seems to be a very defective bolt carrier group with your particular weapon. Has this issue been tested on more than one 556R rifle?

@Sturmgewehre I was going to pick up the 566R over the Arsenal SGL-21, I think now i will go for the Arsenal.
You guys said it! You paid over almost two grand, so why wouldn't you pay for good ammo. That is like buying a new Corvette with a high compression engine that needs premium gas and running the cheep stuff through it; It wont work right and will eventually damage the engine!

@willpmack Probably because brass cased ammo is a huge waste of money and the rifle was designed, so Sig claims, to be used by the military. Guess what the military uses in 90% of the countries using 7.62x39? Yup, you guessed it - Russian and Chinese steel cased ammo. It really show a lack of knowledge about the 7.62x39 when you say things like steel cased Russian ammo is "cheap stuff". It's a military standard.
