Black Boys in School (pt.1)

The schooling system in the UK is not doing much good for African children and particularly our young boys. This is the first part of a short documentary which looks at how three London schools are looking to address this problem as best as they can. Ultimately, the solutions to this SYMPTOM (black underachievement in school) lie in Africans ourselves understanding the underlying CAUSES and dealing with those in a consistent and dilligent manner.

@watchingme215 Good point. but not all Successfull college students get it that easy. My sister God her masters degree while married, working full-time and raising Three kids. Strong Black woman? maybe so, but she is a go getter and thinks about the future and where she wants to be and her family aswell. On the other hand, I have two male cousins the same age that had a mother willing to put them through school and they threw it away. Us black males need to take notes form the sistas.

@da7nesman wouldnt call it exactly lazy I say it is the drive when you have all the motivation and support. How many white doctors you know came from a really poor or unsupportive background? (Not many) My point is I would be willing to put in 50 hours a week studying when I am in college with no job and have my parents behind me 100%,

@sophisticatedplayboy human's are lazy in general. The difference is controlling the want to be lazy. A young white male would be willing to put in hours of study for eight years to become a doctor, but a young black male in the ghetto would put in hours making contacts in the street to sell and distribute drugs. It's also what you are willing to spend you time doing. How many black males put in hours of practive in football and basketball in highshcool? How extra study time to Pull all A's?

However, the problem lies in the fact that white teachers do not understand black kids learning styles, they look at them and immediately judge them for how they look and speak. Instead of condemning their speech, they should teach black kids formal English! Then again, you cannot teach a child you do not love. You cannot teach a child you do not respect. You cannot teach a child you do not understand.

The last time I read my history, I did not recall seeing any Asian or white kids on boats on a voyage across the middle passage, and further being in bondage for over 400 years. But, what bigots and racists white supremacy minded people like you will never grasp is that racism is a form of insecurity, only insecure people have to rationalize that because someone is different that make them inferior. And,s a white male in America makes more than any gender or race with a college degree. So, no white male can indict black people as dumb and lazy with that kind of statistic.
