LOGLINE: A reality based show taking you behind the scenes in how broadcast news is covered by a rare group of people dedicated to covering breaking news as it happens. Before its news it's REALITY!

TREATMENT: STRINGERS is a show that was created out of my passion for broadcast news and what it took to get it covered. In order to cover broadcast news, you still need your photojournalist, reporters anchors, news choppers and satellite trucks, but what you really need are people who are there when it happens and catch it on tape. Something I learned quick in this business is that "if it bleeds it leads!" and I cannot tell you how true that can be. Having a STRINGER out there allows TV stations to buy the video and use it on their air; this is how STRINGERS makes their money.

This show is about the life of a STRINGER and how passionate they can be and at times how dangerous covering breaking news can be. Spending time with this rare group of people made me understand that what you see on the five o'clock news is not necessarily what happened while you slept over night. Not all things make it on the air and if you're foolish enough to believe that 2 car wrecks, 1 shooting and 1 robbery occurred then you need to go along for a ride with STRINGERS.
This show takes you along in the passenger seat of these fully loaded SUVs with GPS, portable radios, scanners, computers, strobe lights and much more, this is not for your everyday scanner buff, but for your person dedicated to getting that money shot for your local newscast, after all "if it bleeds it leads."

This half hour weekly show will take you behind the scenes and for the ride to the next big story, what it will also do is allow you to learn what it really takes to cover news, it is not all about the fancy clothes, makeup and hair, but it is reality in the making, this is the real world and don't ever forget...before it's news, it's reality.

SYNOPSIS: We start off with a slow night for our STRINGERS but soon in the blink of eye that will change. "Structure fire, Structure fire on the east side all units respond on one delta," this is your worst nightmare come true. "We have people trapped inside, maybe a child all units responding acknowledge." The heart starts beating and the adrenaline starts flowing and you are racing to what maybe a false alarm or the lead for the ten o'clock news. You never wish the worst, but you know bad things happen to good people and all you can do is record it for history and hope something can be learned from this. This night proved to all true and people did die at this fire and no smoke detectors where working at the time.

This is the life of a STRINGER.
