Gameplay: Golf (NES)

Golf is a sports-simulation video game released in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was originally released in Japan in 1984 for the NES/Famicom. The golfer is a mustached man who resembles Mario.

The color scheme for the player characters is similar to Professor Hector and Professor Vector, the two scientists from Gyromite and Stack Up, the two R.O.B. games for the NES. The player one character wears a white shirt and shoes with blue pants and uses a white ball, while the player two character wears a red shirt and shoes with black pants and uses a red ball.

Unnamed in the original game, it has been revealed in the Nintendo Wii release Captain Rainbow that the golfer is actually called Ossan.

The user must first decide whether to play single stroke play or the two player selections of doubles stroke play or match play. The user is then placed at the tee of the first hole of eighteen.

It was the first golf game to feature a power/accuracy bar for swinging the club. The power bar method has been used in most golf games since.

I have Game Boy Advance and I'm wondering if this game is available for it. If so, I'll ask for it for my next birthday. What I'm trying to say is I love this game. I used to play it on NES, but it broke and it's not exactly easy to get the original NES anymore.

It's possible to play NES roms on a GBA, if you have a flash card.

I loved this cartridge on the NES. I am one of those gamers who used to shot the ball to different parts of the field just to see how does the program drew the landscape on the window...x3

the way to get good at this game is to understand how to curve the ball to your advantage. (if you end your swing with the arrow left of the two glowing lines, the ball will go right, and vice versa). also you have to practice a lot to know what club to use

I never get tired of watching this video of NES Golf. I must have watched it dozens of times since my first comment I made on it. I don't watch it 24/7, mind you, but it's probably one of my top 5 videos I watch the most on YouTube. I love it!
