In this model; if the part from which you took your reference geometry changes, does it change this part? If it does how do you separate it from that geometry to keep the integrity of this part?

of course you can, ust go to edit -> setup -> material. There you will find pre-setup materials and you have the option to create your own materials with different char. By assigning a material to your part you change it's apperence. But to get your model to appear real you need to create photographic- or videorendering.

Can you create metal that looks like metal in Pro-Eng? I have seen how effectively you can do this in Solidworks.. Seems that Pro-Eng is a bit rubbish in this respect.
