http://www.boyinaband.com - head over to my website to see the text version of the tutorial, grab some samples and check out my other blogs and tutorials!

And http://www.boyinaband.com/forum for the forum (Shocking, right?)

This Reason 5 Tutorial is geared towards people exploring the dirtier and more powerful style of Dubstep, along the lines of Nero, Excision and Skrillex.

If you use fruity loops or garage band or logic, protools, ableton or any other DAW I'm sure you'll find something in here you can learn from, since I try to explain *why* I do things rather than just *what* I do! :)

  • I love you stuff dave! and I don't mean to be hatin' on ya either, but in the forum you back up this statement "You can't polish a turd".

by ADDING eq, You're trying to add poop to something that is a polished piece of work.

The way the eq bends the frequencies are different when you do subtractive eq in comparison to additive EQ.

To me, most my stuff sounds better subtractive, and recently I've made somedemolishingn basses due to this.

Everythign is based on opinion, but i'm open to d

  • holy shit this is confusing. there goes my dreams of becoming a dope ass DJ -.-

  • @DanielParker01 i think he did a darkstep/neurofunk tutorial, thats basically heavy dnb.

  • @LAskeHosting Thanks Faggot.

  • I really like the fact that i can take a patch you've made and use the knowledge from the tutorial to develop it into something more my style, Cheers bro, Much appreciated :)

  • Filter 2 frequency at 3:20 is 4:20 ;D

  • @doushebag If you're an audio engineer and you use reason, why are you following tutorials?
