"He knew her for what she really was - a woman"? Yeah, only her inner circle, I guess.
They really seem to be going out of their way to reassure US though...lol. It's like "Crawford - the eternal feminine female woman with a vagina and is female, no really, we swear it."
Then there's the thing at the end with the blackface. Yikes. I thought for a minute she'd just drawn the eyebrows on slightly thicker than usual, but no, it's real, she's supposed to be Josephine Baker evidently.

Why does everyone delight in trashing Joan Crawford? The woman won an Oscar and made dozens of great pictures. it is easy to pick on the bones of the dead for the delight of morons of the world. Whatever Joan Crawford's personal and professional shortcomings may have been, she was a consummate professional who honored and respected her fans by personally answering all her fan letters. Why not pick on Anna Nicole Smith?
