Whenever I see a BN E Unit I always think of that vid of that girl getting hit by one
-
Beautiful E's , So sad they're being put to death there are so many lines that are just let go and weeds are grown up it would be nice if these units could be put on those lines and used for train rides to try and keep some of the kids interested in railfanning and stuff instead of being glued to a game unit and T.V. And people wonder what is happening to this world...

a funeral train is a train pulling old retired locomotives that are about to be scrapped/put in musems, etc.
-
what the heck is a funeral train?
-
I remember that I was there.
-
where where these headed?
-
This is a rolling funeral.
If anyone lives in North Carolina, check out Carolina Southern's small station in Chadbourn, NC (West of Lake Waccamaw). There's a few old EMD GP18's, a GP30, an SW9 switcher, and the golden gem for me: an EMD F7A and F7B. The F units are sadly not running (from my knowledge) and are just sitting there, slowly rusting away.
These round cowl-body units look way better than these new wide-nose trains imo.
Great video btw!

@cbehr91 Now that's a nice lashup. We had a few of them here in Baltimore in service on the Marc commuter trains.Seeing those engines brought back memories.

What did they end up doing with all those units? What what were they replaced by?
Landaux 7 months ago
@Landaux Some were scrapped, some were sent to museums. There were replaced by F40s.
