Proboat Blackjack 55 on Lake Travis

Here is my BJ55 on Lake Travis. The nasty part of the video at the end is where the motor seized up. Not sure why but it locked up completely!!! This Zenoah is toast!!!!

How much is a new motor for it?

I think that they run about $275. I just had to replace the crank, gaskets & piston ring and she was good to go. I did all of that for less than $75.

were you running the Boat full speed the hole time you were runing with the boat?

Because thats not good to do that.

That could be why it locked up.

Nope, I was only running about 1/2 throttle. The motor locked up because the clutch shoes shattered and got wedged in the clutch stand off posts. The motor will take some level of sustained full open throttle running but you are right in that you shouldn't have it pegged for too long.

know i was told different they are not discontinuing them but making another type of blackjack will see what happens im getting information from horizon hobbies

i wanted one and pro boat discontinued them im i can't get one now does any one know how i may still get one in good condition

@xelectricdisco why not you run a weed wacker full throttle same motor the problem was not anuff oil or these blackjacks and shockwaves need bigger water pick ups

These motors can take full throttle for a lenght of time.. they are not running at max rpm because they are under a load.
