That's right!!!! Do you! And Yes...a teacher is a professional job. It takes great courage and self esteem to be yourself no matter what. Thanks for staying true. My problem is how a lot of black men treated me. I could not believe it. One even asked me if I have become a lesbian. Of course there would be nothing wrong with being one, if I was one but what an insult to lesbians, right? I am still trying amazed at how some black men treated me. Not all but some.

@mpenny226 Isn't it funny how they are the MAIN ones claiming they LOVE and ADORE natural hair? LOL They are the MAIN ones to call you a "Nappy head bitch/hoe" if you wear your hair natural but then turn around and go on rants of how they hate you with weave or straight hair. That's why I just do my hair however the hell I want. One day, I might have a wig on and the next day, I'm rocking my natural hair.

I'm so glad you made a video like this. I've been growing my hair natural for four months and I recently decided to wear my natural hair to work. Some people did like my hair and said it was beautiful. Others, had negative things to say. I had one co-worker tell me that I should know better then to come to work with my hair like that. Another co-worker stayed away from me and the other said if i lost my mind since i had this baby. People could be so mean and ridiculous at times.

So true...I see stuck up people watching my hair like it's dirty. I keep my hair neat and clean, so obviously they were jealous that they don't have the same level of confidence I do ! Keep looking cause it means nothing to me, 3 months since my big chop and my hubby makes me feel beautiful.(he's white)

I love your video. I cut off the relaxed portion of my hair 3 days ago and while watching your video, it seemed like I had written the script. I have about an inch long of super-natural hair now but it ends up looking looking like it's 1/2 centimeter long. So far, I've gotten a couple of somewhat negative responses but I don't care about those. Funny how caucasians love my hair and they just can't stop feeling it. I let them have a feel of it and the comments are endless. They love it.
I agree once your hair is clean and looks good then you should not be judge by it being natural. Also where did you have your camera in this video? was just wondering.

I teach also and when I did my big chop I thought my students were going to pass out! LOL! They had never seen anything like it so they didnt know what to say. They asked alot of questions, but never said anything ugly. Fast forward a whole year...now I'm known as the teacher with the "big hair" because my fro is huge when I blow it out and everyone loves it. So, youre exactly right. It doesnt matter, just be confident and work hard at what you do!

ok but I'm a licensed surgical technician and have been for a year but I have trouble finding work in my field. I have locs and they are very neat 24/7. I don't want to cut my hair because I feel prospective interviewers definitely won't give me a chance. Take a look at my page and tell me what you think. I'm really worried about this.

I understand your concern. I think you locs look very neat and well put together. you could defiantly go on an interview and have it up in a cute style or down. Don't go in there worrying about you hair, just knock them out with your great work ethic and skill. They'll have no choice but to look past your hair (if it is an issue for them). You'd be surprised how many employers don't worry about natural hair (especially well put together hair like ours)
