Because of all the small streets with a lot of stairs, the people in chefchaouen still use donkeys to do the hard work. Here you see them loading a donkey with bottles of gas.

They haven't money for a truck, which cannot ride in the small streets with treps.

I have no idea how much of a load is too much for a donkey. In any case, they seem to hold the containers easily. Donkeys appear to have tremendous strength and work capacity.
