Philippine Airlines Boeing 747-400 PR 104 just arriving from Manila to San Francisco. Within 3 hours from now this beautiful bird will head back to the Philippines as PR 105.

@magnitude200 I would rather fly to the States on a saturday/sunday/thursday or tuesday because that is the riyadh schedule, and they would use RP-C8168 for riyadh. I want to do that so I can fly with the reconfigured planes.

It is because a different flight name means a different destination. In this case PR 104 is for Manila To San Francisco while PR 105 is for San Francisco to Manila, so having the same flight number would actually confuse people.

Take note, that even though the flight number changes for each flight, the aircraft's registration number wont. in this case it's RP-C8168, and it will remain as RP-C8168 regardless of the destination.
