Largest Chilean Rose Tarantula

I challenge anyone to show me a Rose Hair larger than this one, she is close to 7" (although I need a molt to get an official measurment, which means I could be waiting another year +).

Link it to the video response if you think your Chilean is larger and people can decide! :D

-Note- The Cameroon was just about to molt and the Rose Hair had just molted, normally this situation would not be possible without them attacking eachother.

It really shows you just how big my Chilean is compared to the almost 6'' Baboon Spider.

Her legs are around 7'' stretched with an 82mm body!

its common to find big tarantulas roaming around in Chile?

@jerumd I don't think you can to be honest, I know some german dealers claimed to have them...

As I said the original type is so badly messed up in captivity that no one can tell what sub sp. of Hysterocrates they have anymore, only adult's can be an indicator..

H.Hercules are from upper Niger where no one can get in to export them.... but even then the original type may be too far gone, I know a museum has a preserved specimen.

We can always dream...

@whiteyr44 ... If I could get my hands on a real Hercules I would believe me, they are supposed to have a HUGE domed carapace.

No one can export them from Nigeria because the land is owned by drug lords, armed men with guns are the reason we havent got them in the hobby... In captivity the original H.Hercules type is so busted up that no one can tell what they have got.

Sad story to be fair, who wouldnt want a goliath sized baboon spider....

@jerumd Hey man, yea this vid was shot before she molted, just a later upload... the cameroon handling vid was a few days after the molt.

H.Baboon are likely not actually in the hobby, most who are claiming to sell real hercules are 100 percent fakes... They can get 9-10" but no one knows for sure, the large "hercules" you see are just oversized Cameroon Baboon's, which can get to a decent 7"... I am a HUGE baboon spider fan, I have an OBT, CB, King Baboon and 2 K.Baboons.....

Nice & healthy looking specimens you got right there bud :D I would really wanna get a Hercules Baboon someday. Are both Cameroon & Hercules baboon similar in size when fully grown?? @jerumd That is a 6" Cameroon Baboon in the background for reference, she was actually molting at this time.

My Chilean had just molted here.

I have owned a 10.5" female Goliath Birdeater in the past...
