URGENT
Al Gore has told the UN climate conference that new data suggests that the Arctic polar ice cap may disappear in the summertime as soon as five to seven years from now!!!!!

Ursus, the last polar bear · Ursus, el último oso polar . Ursus, de senaste isbjörn.

A visit to the pavillion dedicated to Björn (bear, in Swedish) in Skansen (the open-air and life museum and zoo of Stockholm) raised again my concern about the future of the bears and, in particular, that of the polar bear.

Once at home, I looked for more info in the web. I got the key sentences on wikipedia and I found pages such as www.iucn.org, www.defenders.org and www.polarbearsinternational.org and I spend several hours admiring their work for wildlife.

Today, flying back to Barcelona, I could avoid drawing the drafts of this short story of Oyakudachi. It is my little but sincere contribution to support those which invest a lot of time and efforts to help Ursus to survive. Still, each one of us can do a lot of things! Visit the web pages and you'll discover how easily one can contribute to conservate the wildlife. In PolarBearInternational you'll find also my second source of inspiration for this Oyakudachi story. The lema 'Take Action for Wildlife' of Defenders.org has been the third one!

The original title I was thinking for this story was 'Björn, the polar bear'. Björn is a common male name in Sweden and that of one of my best friends. However, we should remember: conservation through research and 'education', so...here it is. Let's start with the name... : )

Music: 'Angel of Healing' by Stephen Rhodes. Album: The Story so Far.

20th October 2009: I've submitted this video to www.youtube.com/COP15 as my contribution to the initiative ' Raise your voice - Change the climate change' at www.youtube.com/COP15

Tell the man/woman in the mirrow: YOU, you can do a lot of things to change the climate change! Take action!
Dile al hombre/mujer del espejo: Tú, tú puedes hacer muchas cosas para cambiar el cambio climático. Actúa!
