look at kanazawa sensei's kata or yahara-sensei. they all do yoko geri keage. the practise the traditional way of karate-do.

what you see here is certainly karate too. but not the traditional way - it's rather "tournament karate".

most of the audience should watch more wkf kata. The "hits himself sometimes when he punches to create the snap sound lol!" is his hands and arms moving in the proper motion at such incredible speeds that impact is inevitable, I promise becuase I've done it. the theatrics are called "timing" kata doesnt have to show the audience what the movement really is, but the audience should be able to guess what the application could be. Luca Valdesi was world champion for a reason

@fuKdaKKKSnNIGGAS Look, Valdesi has speed ; I respect him for that. He has good stances, and generally good technique. Hwever, his showmanship is what annoys me...it's unnecessary because he's gud enuff to win if he did it the way it should be done. His timing is way off thus making the kata longer than it should , plus he hits himself sometimes when he punches to create the snap sound lol! But hey, I'll give cred where it's due cuz he & Aghayev have trained a way tht has exploited WKF rules lol
