The Nature and Practice of Compassion
In this teaching for the Buddhist communities of Atlanta and the southeastern U.S., His Holiness will explain the nature of compassion and the practices for cultivating it as understood in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition—something to which His Holiness has dedicated his entire life. By explaining the essential role of compassion in the flourishing of human life, this teaching will provide a backdrop for all the subsequent events of the visit.
I wasent there but I think all Dalai lama is so inspirational and I really envy the Buddhist way

I've seen His Holiness speak several times. I was at this teaching and thought it was a great lecture. When you're in His presence you realize how happy and almost childlike he is in his joy and love for all people.
(Incidentally, I was also the woman asking the question at 49:55. As a Tibetan Buddhist and member of Drepung Loseling Monestary - it was an unbelievable honor to ask HHDL a direct question.)

See that big security guy in the back sitting on that little hard wooden chair? !!!
I hope they give security some comfortable chairs next time. It must have been very very difficult to sit still on those chairs for that long. Poor fellow!

Terrible lighting on the video and in person. I was there too. and at least we can listen to the video, because on site we couldn't understand anything, the sound system was awful too. Who wants to sit in the dark for an hour and listen to nothing intelligible? But, HHDL was great. He carried on, and so now we have another chance to hear what he said. Great. Thanks Emory for all you do!

It was a fantastic lecture and a great day here in Atlanta this past Oct. 17th... this really captures His Holiness' intellect, compassion and spirit.
