My son Anno was killed two months later in November 2001, aged 20. Among the many poems he wrote, I found the following:

... Don't let the smoke of New York City
cloud your eyes to the horizon.
From here it looks alight with blood and fire.
That we are moved by such desires as murder
moves me to tears.

I'm not impressed. 17 million spread out over 2,000 years of Church (meaning the world-wide body of Christians regardless of denomination) is pretty damned reserved. I wouldn't even call those killed during the Crusades as wrongful deaths, either, since the Crusades were a strategic counter-attack in response to 400 years of Muslim expansionism.

@Halo4Lyf The total number of deaths estimated to Christianity is approximately 17 million. This is from adding death tolls of ancient wars, the Crusades, the Inquisitions, various European wars during the Middle Ages, and witchcraft trials (may have forgotten some so the number may be low) No clue about Islam though but 17 million is pretty high.
