The title says it all! I got this "relic" ( the Paillard record player) from the past, at an antique store just to play some 78 rpm records, that my father left to me when he passed away. This is how great "rock and roll" sound in the early 50's.

  • just to let you know not to play 78's like that on that kin of record player you will end up distroying theme i just thought you should know.

  • @321record I knew it already, but I had to do it, at least once, in order to post it on Youtube. Record and record player are both stars on this videoclip! I had to break the eggs to make the omelette ! Thanks 4 the advice, anyways! Cheers, ET.

  • sounds good on that win-up(or is it a wind -up?).anyway great version.

  • Its your record. You can fry it up in bacon fat if you want!!! Killer vid by the way!!

  • @321record What does it matter, in the end? This is one of the most common recordings out there, if all the 78 rpm discs of this song were smashed nothing would be lost.

Seems to me that the value of old records of common songs such as this now is either to look at the disk or play them imaginatively, like ETBRAIN is doing here. If you just want to hear the song you can play some modern medium.

  • sounds amazing at this end

  • you didn't HAVE to do it; you CHOSE to do it. Therefore, you destroyed the record.

Get something of period recording; say single sided discs; and you're gonna be sweet

  • @1947Desoto in america yes, in great Britain, the last 78 was made in '61 i believe.

  • oldschool
