Being so high, fast, and alone the first time was
plenty scary for me and awesome fun. Flew down river, turned right and got to maybe 200 feet AGL (highest I've been in the Mosquito, and all alone). Saw about 50mph at one point. Managed approach to a hover without crashing though engine rpm got pretty low in the flare. Landed near Pepper (85 year old widow who loves aviation) came out to see me take off. I flew over to the golf course then directly home coming over the river really hot... whew. I'll be high for a week.

  • it must be a amazing feeling on your frist flight after all the hours of trainning and hard work to be on your own up there... can only imagine, i fly RC helis, think thats the closest il ever get maybe with 1st person view but still not anywhere near the real thing

  • Everybody loves Raymond..........I mean Larry!

  • nice flying...little crazy though..I'll fly the R44 or 22...but not so sure about one of those....you really like testing the yaw speed/control on that thing..I would slow that down a bit..no need to be in a hurry to rotate...but that's me...I know your familiar with DR, but how about settling with power? How's the CG? are you going to enclose the front at all?all in all great dedication...

  • when you land is the time you throw your hands up in triumph and yell yes!!!

then rush to the hospital to get your hands reattached.

  • wow amazing to watch from the first attempt to this ,,good onya mate

  • read the book Chicken Hawk, true story of a helicopter pilot in Vietnam,it's a must read for all who love helicopters.
