  • @jdg2k6 I understand why you might be saying this. In this video he uses a lot of effects and doesn't really play that much. You should check him out on the DVD "Sessions for Robert Johnson".

  • a shortage of guitar players... if only it was like that now!

  • I'm pretty sure he sold his soul to the devil. You can check out his pedal board if you do a google image search for doyle bramhall rig or doyle bramhall pedal board. Bunch of cool stuff on his sound out there

  • @ijustseefaces same here

  • Love this dude!!!

  • he really sound like srv

  • I think Doyle is the only musician who reaches the Hendrix tone and feeling. He's one of the best guitar players today.

  • Brother Doyle II Is The Real Thang Man, Taking It To The Next Level. Very Creative. IMO

  • I love technical players and jazz guitarists like Wes Montgomery BUT i also really like this guys sound and have done for 15 yrs.

It's that full, retro Blues sound that i haven't heard since i saw Hendrix in the 60s.

Even sounds more like Hendrix than SRV did, to me anyway, if thats possible.(not putting SRV down you understand)..maybe because he's a lefty?

  • I play this way too. Exactly. Going on 15 years. :D

  • @babyjo21166 He's not the only one I've seen play this way. A guy I went to high school with used to play his guitar the same way (left handed and upside down), just because that's how he first picked the guitar up. I used to jam with him quite a bit. He later went on to play with the Steve Miller Band and recorded with Miller on the "Abracadabra" album.

  • @gangtwanger dude he lived in dallas most of his childhood. he was a baby when he lived in austin with stevie. his dad and mum moved to fort worth.

  • @PutraBlues Doyle uses a basic vintage Arbiter Fuzz He got in the late 80's mainly. But the fuzz "sound" you might be hearing is his use of a Octavia with his fuzz with his Marshall Super Bass cranked up. I'm from Dallas and have alot of music friends who are family friends with him, Jimmie Vaughan, etc. His sound is basically Arbiter Fuzz, Uni-Vibe, and Octavia.
