Lead Barons -- material field testing

This is a preliminary field testing of our equipment, most notably the crate in which the airplane (afectionately known as Svetlana)will be transported.

the test course through which the crate had to be manuevered consisted of a series of carefully chosen corridors and doors in order to test the manuevrability of this crate to its limit.

the results of these test are generally good, although there are some remarks about the ergonomics of the handles. This problem should easily be solved by shoving a piece of garden hose over the rope.These shortcomings in design remind us of just how essential these tests really are.

the following crate tests will be performed during the rest of the week (time permitting):

-water resistance of the paint
-scratch resistance of the paint
-can it be used as a flotation device?
-resistance to 5m drop
-resistance to 10m drop
-resistance to 10m drop onto chainsaws
