The final battle scene from the movie, is presented here.

From 55 seconds to 3'25'' music (the overture) from El Cid Soundtrack was also added (music by Miklos Rosza). Finally, i have to say that this is the original soundtrack (not the original recording), but it was used at the beginning (almost) of the film.

Why has Hollywood made a movie about what happened after Crusaders accept the surrender of Jerusalem where victorious knights killed all non-Christians in the city and the knights reported to Pope in Rome how they walked in the ankle-high blood pool? It is well-recorded in the history and can be easily found in wikipedia and several other websites. We believe so much and so deeply we are all angels that everyone else has to be a devil.

@modernredeye As for barbarians many medicines we use today as well as technologies like telescopes came from Arabian faiths. We were actually more barbaric emotionally, spiritually and technologically at this time. Just look at the spanish inquisitions and the fact crusaders killed ALL faiths (including christians) in their take over of the holy land. Saladin and his muslim lords kept most christian peasants alive and allowed them to follow their own faith under muslim protected in the region.

@GeneralGrievous18 The problem was the invasion of the Byzantine Empire by Muslim factions; the Emperor asked the west for help. Jihad was resurrected to combat the western crusader invasions but those invasions were in response to the war raging between the turks, egyptions and Byzantines. Al Alandalus was the muslim spanish country, the best place on earth at this time with muslim, jewish and christian arts, culture and knowledge. Its loss broke apart the three main faiths permenantly.
