Too bad they rarely got to show it on screen...but yes, SG-1 was pretty good at poking fun at its-self.
Sometimes openly (ie 200)...and more often with a LOT of sneaky inside jokes (ie...giant wrenches)

@gatemarzipan I was adding to the list of funny Canadians. But the ones you added can be pretty hilarious, too. That's what I liked about the first two Stargate series. They were funny and engaging. SGU is nothing but a soap opera set in space. That's why David and Paul's plans to launch Starcrossed fell through. MGM beat them to the punch.
