Government spending isn't necessarily bad for the country. What is more important is intelligent government spending in programs such as welfare, education, and infrastructure projects. Plus, the Republican Party has been known to spend more excessively in the weapons industry in sacrifice of said programs. These are facts.

Even with lower taxes, the benefits of off shoring jobs are more comprehensive in China and other countries because their labor force is so immense. And because the United States is no longer a manufacturing powerhouse, those who have lost their jobs (in the factories) need to adopt to the market. Hence, we need to go back to school and become more service-oriented. From what I remember, this is what economics calls structural unemployment.
