This is utter BS. I knew that once there was a second vote the citizens of Ireland would be steamrolled, just like the citizens of every other e.u country.
Hail the current corporate paradigm of beige fascism!

@meeeee68
It's on youtube as 'Irish NO to Lisbon Song'

/watch?v=v8oy-nXxWr4

"Written and sung by Tom O'Donovan of Tarbert, Co Kerry Ireland."

It's an older air though. Reminds me a little of The Whistling Gypsy, and an old English football song about 'Fulham coming over the hill' 'hurrah, hurrah'. ;o)

Probably some old air from the wars of the 18th century.

See also the 'TOM LISBON SONG'

Putting the question there, might get an answer on the air.

I understand what you state about: stories being told to influence voters.

But this was not the issue: it was the Lisbon Treaty yes or no. The first referendum was legal.
No further discussion!

A 3rd or 4th referendum would make EU look very foolish.
So a little help was required. Aim: to add yes votes.

Of course this 'help' cannot be proved, the 'helpers' are well organised?
Why mentioning things nevertheless?: Because people have a right to know. They can decide for themselves what to believe. It would be more fair if they knew all sides of reality.
Of course complaints come only afterwards. To avoid this complete openness is needed!!!
Normal human, frank openness!!! So simple!

In 2008 the No side claimed abortion would be introduced and Irish men would be conscripted into European armies: all bald-faced lies. They said we would lose a Commissioner: only half true as we would have lost one anyway as per the Nice Treaty. We sought and obtained binding guarantees from our European partners on these issues. The issues were different in 2009. The No campaign were forced to tell different lies. We still could have voted No. We didn't. No rape; just democracy

After the 2nd referendum it was screamed out the turnout was highest since 1972.
Then why was there no screaming after the 1st referendum???
To compare some turnouts for EU referendums:
1972 51%
200135%
200853%
200958%

Since democracy was RAPED by not accepting the result of 2008, it was clear that EU elite was going to have Ireland vote UNTIL the outcome would be yes.
