No, you just didn't draw a naked lady on that glass. Jim Varney's 'Ernest' would've NEVER done that in a commercial. How rude, disrespectful and disgusting. I loved Jim Varney's commercials and movies because they were clean. Don't start making him into some kind of pervert. You're totally ruining JIm's good name. Shame on you guys. For shame, I say.

@seerockcity27 Jim's 'Ernest' is still making people laugh. This...this is just plain revolting. It's not necessarily just Ernest that we love but the fact that is was Jim who made that character who he is. Jim & Ernest R the lovable ones. It doesn't matter how he's animated, who speaks 4 him & if an actor puts on the clothes. It will never be the same. It was Jim we've come 2 admire 4 all his work & dedication 2 this character even when I knew he wanted 2 do more than just the Ernest role.

he cant even do jims famous "ewwwwww" right

@videogamester07 not the voice, it's the face. They don't have the money to do a good 3d rig for the mugging and faces he's known for. Maybe if they just went with a cartoon it'd work out more but even then it doesn't look like they'd have the money to get a good animator that can draw the faces without turning to mud.

I heavily disagree with nobody else but Jim being Ernest. That is just as deconstructive as this terrible fake Ernest. In an effort to BE constructive: His "eeeeew" is too bland and he just doesn't have the voice high enough, the character is not lovable but annoying, note that he doesn't even use proper Ernest lines and mood. This is just not Ernest. I will not say that a person can't have Ernest's "soul" but they must understand Ernest first. I just want Jim to have a PROPER legacy.

Jim Varney never turned down a commercial. It was a character built on hundreds upon hundreds of commercials. Before Ernest P. Worrell was a star, he hocked everything you can imagine. The character was created for Varney by an advertising man. So really the best was to honor the character of Ernest P. Worrell is to let it live on serving it's intended purpose. They used to film 25 commercials a day, for everything. Jim didn't care. He was a Shakespearian actor it made no difference to him

This is the exact same old commercial with crappy cgi and a crappy Jim Varney impersonator. Same linchpins and everything.
-
@gotisc I totally agree. Varney was his own cartoon character.

If any body makes a parody of this, I would just love to see the new animated Ernest get run over by the car that Vern's driving. Make him flatter than the 'Pancakes on Parade'. But don't take out any slack.

Jim Varney was much more animated than this crappy animation.

Poor Taste
If they respect the memory and legacy of Jim the'll knock it off with the animators and imitators.
