i hurt my fingers when i play it :(

what can i do?

when doing the downstrokes try to make sure only your fingernails are hitting the strings. tips of first 2 fingernails is best for me, and if i want more volume ill just add more fingernail into the strum. otherwise they should just barely be grazing the strings. also, steel strings will cut you up pretty good in only a few minutes so make sure u are using nylons.

@aldgx i actually put band aid just where my nails start cause it is where i get hurt,that helps untill you learn and have control..
