Here's a couple I've been having for years. Get a little can of tomato paste, a can of green beans, a lemon, and some cinnamon(trust me it works). Mix a bit of the paste with some cinnamon, and water. Finally cook with the green beans, and add lemon to taste. You now have Lubia Polo, a cheap persian dish. Another thing you can do is cook some rice with some canned baby lima beans and dill. That's called Baghali Polo.

I really like the premise of this show. So many cooking tips and whatnot are all for making really good food. Making things for really cheap is a surprisingly fun endeavor. I only wish my girlfriend wasn't a health nut... watching this show inspires me to experiment.
