A new year and the first major event of the year for me. The Great Central Railways Winter Steam Gala didn't really have a theme this year, but was marketed at 'The Big One' due to the fact that there were 10 engines in operation during the gala, and would be the biggest the line has seen. It would see two visiting locos, the debut of another after overhaul, and begin the 100th birthday of another. The line ran its usual mix of full line passenger, locals, goods, and TPOs. The timetable ended up being around 45 minutes late by the time I left, which was somewhat disappointing, but a good day was had none the less.
The full loco line up was:-
|BR 'Britannia' Class No 70013 'Oliver Cromwell'
|SR M7 No 53 (from the Swanage Railway)
|LMS 2MT No 46521 (making its debut after overhaul)
|LNER O4 No 63601 (celebrating its 100th birthday)
|SR N15 'King Arthur' Class No 30777 'Sir Lamiel'
|LMS 8F No 8624
|BR 2MT No 78019
|LMS 3F 'Jinty' No 47406
|LNER N2 No 1744
|GWR 'Hall' No 4953 'Pitchford Hall'
That M7 is on loan from Swanage :)

Some great shots. This gala really threw up some treats. The highlight for me were the return of 70013 and the 2MTs. Nice work, well done.
