With jaunty music!

Apparently used until c. 1974-precursor to the legendary BBC Schools Diamond.

Edit, thanks to presheaven's information. This is a mock by Dave Jeffery and Rory Clark. All credit to them, of course!

  • Sorry to disappoint, but this isn't real. There was never a colour piechart. It's a mock by Dave Jeffery and Rory Clark. YouTube 'stupidrubbish' to see more of Dave's work. Love the music on this though, need to ask them what it is....

  • Thanks for your information! I was forwarded this gem years ago with only a file name to go on.

  • @presheaven The track's called "Man With Umbrella" performed by Dick Hunter with the Four Rhythm.

  • @TheBranquignol The track's called "Man With Umbrella" performed by Dick Hunter with the Four Rhythm.

  • Yes, on the contrary there WAS a colour version of this pie chart - briefly glimpsed in the early 70s before the animated diamonds came along to replace it..... even the tune (woodblock/flute and poppy hammond/celeste keyboard one - don't know the titles I'm afraid ) were used for the pie chart one before this disappeared.

  • i think i have that tune somewhere stored on my pc,

  • This was a mock-up posted on a TV mock-ups website a few years back. The site's gone now, so at least it can be seen again :)

  • Wahou ! Music by... ? Someone knows the answer ?

  • chachey music

  • I'm still convinced that I saw this pie-chart in colour back in 1971 when I was at playgroup with some xylophone type music.

  • Actually, I'm sure there was a colour pie-chart, I remember seeing it at Playgroup when I was 4, in 1972.

  • The Pie Chart was used until October 1973. It was never in colour, even though programmes like Words and Pictures, Look and Read and Scene were by then.
