ENGL Fireball 60 FJA Modded - Washburn USA WV80 - Mesa Boogie 4x12 - Vintage 30 - Boss RV-3

Forgive my terrible playing, I was just showing the tonal quality of the lead channel. Mods done by FJA Mods. Mods are an added 12AX7 gain stage, noise reduction circuit on lead channel, external bias pot, mid sweep (knob) like on a Krank amp, clarity mod, Mercury output transformer, Mercury choke, "tone shift" which is a mid boost. ENGL Fireball 60 FJA Modded - Washburn WV80 - Seymour Duncan Custom Custom - Mesa Boogie 4x12 w/ Vintage 30s Boss RV-3 ( thru the fx loop ). Recorded on a iPhone 4.

Nice sound. Is the Mesa cab the larger Standard Rectifier or the smaller Traditional (Stiletto) cab. Either way, sounds awesome. All the best.

@5150VanAlien Thanks, This is the Traditional (smaller) cab but I bought it a few years ago when it was still called the Recto Traditional cab. Another cool thing is this cab is rated at 280 watts because it has the original vintage 30s that were 70 watt & made in england. The newer mesa 4x12 cabinets are rated at 240 watts because they use chinese made vintage 30s rated at 60 watts each.

This is a GREAT tone. None of the fizz I hear on some ENGL demos. Pretty glorious.

You happy with the 60 or do you sometimes wish for the added control of the 100 ?

@guitaristguy20 Thanks! Just to let you know I contacted Mesa and they confirmed all their Vintage 30's are UK made. I had the Fireball 60 for 4 years and never had a problem. Now I've got the Blackmore and Savage 120. I prefer the Blackmore as it gives a more organic tone and cuts through the mix much better. Don't mind the Savage however, I might sell it and buy my trust FB again maybe this time the FB100...

I really enjoyed this video. I play the newer Engl Fireball 100 and LOVE it.:) Still...if I see or hear someone playing metal on an amp with ENGL written on it I am going to love it. German made amps and oh does the distortion sound like a pissed off German,lol.
