What an extraordinarily arrogant comment! He plays very musically with a warm tone and very nice baroque embellishments. It is highly unlikely that you could play it any better, especially as you seem to be rather immature and lack self-judgement.

You are not quite right about the use of vibrato and playing in a musical and meaningful way is more important than any attempt to be "authentic". We do not know exactly how this music was played at the time, so it is not possible to be authentic, especially not with modern instruments and bows as used here.

An "authentic" performer belongs to the period from whence the music came. This violist wasn´t around at the time of the work in question (neither were you, I would hazard,) but the performance is authentic in that the interpretation was created at the time of playing. Don't confuse style with authenticity. By the way, vibrato (either vocal or instrumental) has been around for a lot longer than you can imagine!!

No a baroque performer shouldn't use as much vibrato as it was a technique not introduced until late the late classical period. While the sound is beautiful it isn't authentic and a professional musician should always be authentic.

I like his sound, it's so rich, fully shows the greatness of a viola sound.

so make a recording and post it. I personally really like how David Lloyd played this. A lot of people try to dress it up fancy and it's almost impossible to find the original music without added ornamentation from the editor. Lloyd played it simply and with beautiful, rich tone that is hard to emulate. He doesn't add a lot of useless extra notes.
